How to run a payroll summary report?  Note that the dates in this report are by paycheck dates only, not pay period dates. If you don't see this report, it's occurs due to DIY payroll. If you'd like it, here's how to upgrade so you can get this report.

QuickBooks Online Payroll

  • Go to the menu “Report”.
  • Go to the Payroll section -> then Payroll Summary.
  • Select date range from the drop-down.
  • Set a single employee or group of employees.
  • At last, select Run Report.

Intuit Online Payroll

  • Go to the tab “Report”.
  • Click on the Payroll Summary.
  • Select a date range from the dropdown.
  • Set a single employee or group of employees according to requirement.
  • At last Run Report.

QuickBooks Desktop

  • Select Reports,
  • Select  Employees  and Payroll
  • Select Payroll Summary.
  • Set the date range appropriately.

Want to generate this report in more employee detailed way? Run just the Payroll Summary report that provides totals by all employees. Go to the further step and see info by each employee and their totals. Then, you can sort by employee, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.

QuickBooks Online Payroll

  • Go to the menu “Report”.
  • Got to the Payroll section,
  • Go to Payroll Summary by Employee.
  • Adjust a date range from the dropdown.
  • Choose the single employee or group of employees.
  • select how you’d like your columns to be viewed by (by employee, weekly, bi-weekly, etc).
  • Check the corresponding boxes if you’d like total Hours or Rates to be shown.
  • At last, select Run Report.

Intuit Online Full Service Payroll

  • Go to the Reports tab.
  • Click Payroll Summary by Employee.
  • Set a date range from the drop down.
  • Select the employee (individual or employee groups).
  • Choose how you’d like your columns to be viewed by (by employee, weekly, bi-weekly, etc).
  • Check the corresponding boxes if you’d like total Hours or Rates to be shown.
  • Lastly, select Run Report.
