Health can be pretty complicated. The humungous mass of health advice on the internet certainly makes it look that way. But what if we could follow only one health recommendation to secure our long-term health?
Well, we can. And here it is: Eat a wide variety of whole foods.
Why? This simple recommendation directly addresses society’s single greatest health problem: We’re badly overfed and undernourished, creating obesity on the one hand and disease on the other.
But if it’s that simple, why isn’t everyone doing it? Two reasons (or rather, misconceptions): taste and practicality.
People believe that their lives will be empty without all those irresistible nutrient-free treats designed to make us fat and that eating a wide variety of whole foods is simply impractical.
