Museum simulations belong to an extensive video game genre we have yet to explore. They can be collaborations of digital artists, like “Zium Museum” or “Zium Garden”. They can be Museum parodies like “The Crows Crows Crows Community Museum” or “The Artist is Present” by Pippin Barr. They can be silent but powerful exhibitions like “Neo-Brutalism of Tomorrow”. They even can be endlessly transient AI-generated diorama experiences like “Telephone Paintings” or perception-related phenomenons like “Gallery of Subjective Art”. Perhaps we need to discuss a brand new style: Museumcore, -punk or -wave.
Especially during lockdowns and quarantines, as museums are closed or inaccessible, the urge to get lost in endless halls full of art is uncontrollable. Especially if your bent is to contemplate the art you seek.

“The Gallery of Anything” by Jan Malitschek follows this urge in a simple but genius way.
The approach is straightforward and laconic. You enter the game. You enter the empty museum. You enter the desired topic.

Defining the theme of the exhibition.
And you enter the world of your choice.

How does it work?
Psst, that’s kind of risky. Don’t tell it to big companies. According to the author’s description:
What this game is doing is technically against Google's and YouTube's (and possibly many other websites) TOS. I'm definitely biting a bullet by publishing this.
The game searches for the term you’ve input on Google image search — and place them inside beautiful frames in endless halls.
Some info stands crawl internet texts to random but thematically coherent descriptions.

It even places YouTube videos of the same context in a typical museal film screening rooms:

This simple method leads to a great experience of seeing exactly what you desired.
Endless topic?
The longer you walk around the more changes of the topic you see. The next proximity themes emerge, and you live within a storytelling evolution.
Let’s visit an exhibition “Dadaism”, my favorite topic of the art Avant-Garde movements.

Fantastic! We’ve got ‘The Spirit of Our Time’, 1920 by RAOUL HAUSMANN and, of course, “Fountain” by MARCEL DUCHAMP.

Next to the Portrait of Tristan Tzara you will find the next part of the exhibition: “COLLAGE”.

Collage “Exhibition” with some glitches.
The rooms are sometimes glitchy — but that fits into a concept. The interiors are partly redundant — but in eternity, everything is repetitive. And after all, you used to visit various exhibition changes in the same museal architecture in real life.
You even get some fascinating facts about Dadaism you never knew:

Next is a “Duchamp” exhibition:

As you see, topics are coalescing seamlessly, like in a well-curated museum.
Suddenly you find yourself at the Chess Exhibition.

No wonder, since Duchamp was obsessed with chess.

He even had a chance to become a Chess Champion in France 1925.
Visual storytelling flows, and this is Neo-Fluxus: everchanging data coherency enriches this endless museum.
There is a nothingness outside — just a greenish sky flowing away.

But you don’t miss it. You just continue your journey discovering new perspectives.
As long as Google won’t block the game.

Summary
“The Anything Gallery” is a unique experience. It shows you exactly what you wanted to revisit, but it also provides more: surprising discoveries, random encounters, and mindfulness of profound search for the answer.
My advice: input a philosophical term — and you will observe unexpected realities. My other advice: enjoy this experience while it’s still available.
