Opinion: Rick Pitino, back in NCAA Tournament, got bruised but never lost what made him great
Rick Pitino didn't expect him to train again.
At least that's what he said. And with Pitino, that's all he can do. He was never convinced how genuine or prophetic those words were. Big details like what he really knew about the serious NCAA breach in Louisville that disrupted his career were complicated for Pitino.
Better example: After arriving at the NCAA tournament with Iona on Saturday, Pitino said he would end his career there. He also told reporters to stop calling him old: I'm 68, but my passion will be 48.
Does anyone think that Pitino will not respond if he calls a great school after this race?
