Last summer, Orlando's ICON park announced the addition of two massive new attractions: the world’s largest slingshot ride and drop tower. And now some new information has been released about these brand new attractions.

  • First up is the The ICON Park Drop Tower which has been confirmed to stand at 430 feet, and will lift 30 riders up at a time before reaching the top when it will then tilt forward 30 degrees and drop riders in a 400-foot free fall at speeds of over 75 mph.
  • Next is the ICON Park Slingshot which will be 300 feet tall and will launch two riders out of an "exploding volcano” to approximately 450 feet into the sky at more than 100 mph.

In addition to these new record breaking attractions, last week it was announced that Family Entertainment Group will open In The Game which will be a new family entertainment center and arcade that will feature 70 games, an interactive mirror maze, virtual-reality experiences, themed escape rooms and more. This new facility is expected to open next spring.

With all of these new experiences, plus The Wheel and StarFlyer attractions, the SeaLife aquarium and Madame Tussaud's, it looks like ICON Park is really coming into its own as a must-see Orlando destination, which is definitely good news given its somewhat varied history. Will you be visiting this destination in 2021?
