Remember those trees on my block with no name? That’s a lost relationship. But Snowy’s become a part of the naeighborhood. Everybody smiles when they see him. “Hi, Snowy!” they say. That’s sociality becoming happiness, in vivid reality. Do you see what I mean a little bit when I say that bringing nature back into our lives is how we expand sociality, and since we are social beings, that is how our own happiness and meaning and fulfilment grow?
Why does our happiness and meaning and fulfilment go hand in hand with nature? And by nature, I don’t just mean “animals” or “woods.” I even mean a dancefloor. Something as simple as that.

in the applied, commercial world, the word best is always a weasel word intended to test your business awareness. One of the tell-tale signs of a greener data scientist is whether they’re thinking about the best business outcome vs. the best machine learning model. ‘Best’ is a balance of ‘what candy elements drive the highest satisfaction/enjoyment?’ and ‘what candy elements drive the highest price?’ We’re basically trying to find a balance between“Excellent!” I rubbed my hands. “Guess what: around campus Bill Gates is known as Harvard’s Most Successful Dropout!” But I could sense my uncle wasn’t buying that with my money. Wouldn’t that be better for everyone — making the kids happy, the parents, the dogs, and so forth, all a little happier, closer? Why don’t they greet him by name? Why isn’t he part of us?

It may appear like a minor difference to reduce the number of take outs you order per week. When you add that money to your emergency fund, you’ll realize that even the smallest changes can contribute to a more significant cause.
With the coronavirus leading to high levels of job uncertainty and medical emergencies, having money saved away is a blessing, even if that means cutting down on unnecessary expenses in the short term.
