What are the Penalties of Ihram?

There are certain penalties that are due for pilgrims who have violated any of the rules of Ihram. For which, there are different compensations that he/she must fulfill. 
The certain types of penalties associated with the violation of the state of Ihram are briefly discussed below.
1.    Fidyah.
Fidyah refers to compensation for any of the missed action(s) or a violation of a Hajj-related law. In any sense, Fidyah shouldn’t be regarded as a punishment, but rather a means of rectifying and renewing your commitment to the pilgrimage intended and the Sunnah of the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW). Hence, Fidyah is obligatory when you;
•    Performed a prohibited act in the state of Ihram. For example, applying perfume or cutting the hair, etc.
•    Forgot or failed to perform a Wajib act of Hajj or Umrah in a proper manner. For example, crossing the Meeqat boundary without entering into the state of Ihram before.
•    Transgressing the sanctity of the Holy Haram. For example, killing an animal within its boundaries.
2.    Badanah
Badanah refers to the concept of slaughtering a large sacrificial animal such as a camel or cow for compensation. It is obligatory when,
•    Performing Tawaf of the Holy Kaaba while being in a state of major ritual impurity i.e., requiring Ghusl.
•    Having intimate relations with your spouse at any point between Wuquf-e-Arafat i.e., on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, and cutting the hair/ Tawaf-al-Ziyarath i.e., on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah.
3.    Damm.
Damm is compensation through sacrificial of a small animal such as a sheep or a goat. It's obligatory when,
•    Entering the Meeqat without assuming Ihram.
•    Applying fragrances, Heena, or perfumes to the body. 
•    Wearing stitched/tailored clothing of any sort by men.
•    Clipping of nails on hands or feet.
•    Hunting of animals or insects. a prohibited animal.
•    Having intimacy with a spouse. 
•    Wearing footwear that covers the ankle and heel bones of men. 
•    Covering the head or face by men.
•    Shaving, cutting, or trimming of body hair.
•    Omitting an obligatory ritual of Hajj or Umrah or not performing it in a proper way. 
4.    Sadaqah.
Sadaqah is a charity given to the poor and needy people as compensation. It is preferred to give Sadaqah in the form of non-perishable staple foods i.e., flour, wheat, barley, dates, or raisins. It is obligatory when;
•    Having used fragrance in the state of Ihram.
•    Cutting trees or grass that are present within the boundaries of the Haram.
•    Wearing stitched clothing, or prohibited footwear for a small amount of time during the holy rituals.
•    Covering a small portion of your head or the face.
•    Clipping a few nails of the hands or feet.
•    Not performing obligatory actions of Hajj or Umrah properly or correctly. 
•    Causing harm to animals or insects.
•    Trimming hair from the body.
