Camila Cabello Admits Attending Racism Counseling After Her Racist Tumblr Posts Re-highlighted
Camila has been open about what she did to educate herself and grow out of situations. She admits to attending weekly racial healing sessions to broaden her views on racism.
A few months ago, Camila Cabello's Tumblr post from her teenage years resurfaced. At that time, estimated to be 2012-2013, Camila reblogged racist and xenophobic posts that mocked blacks, Asians and Mexicans, and contained N-words and other offensive language.
Camila apologized on Twitter after her post went viral, saying, "When I was young, I used language that I was very ashamed of and would regret forever. I was uneducated and ignorant, and once I realized history, burdens, and the true meaning behind this terrible and painful language, I am so ashamed to have used it. I then apologized, and I apologize now, "he said.
Now, months later, Camila is open about what she did to educate herself and grow out of the situation. He admits attending weekly racial healing sessions to broaden his views on racism. "It creates a space where I am held accountable," he told PEOPLE.

Camila also said she wanted to take action by helping activists and organizations fighting injustice. "As I learn more about other people's experiences in the world, I'm like, 'How do I help people who are at the forefront of dismantling systems that create oppression? And how do I bridge that with my personal journey of mental health and healing?', "he said.
"What all organizations have in common is that they help their communities, especially those who are marginalized in their communities," said Camila. "They all also expressed the need for these mental health resources."
"Meeting all the really cool and tough heroes in the community and around the country who are trying to advance the world and make the world a better and safer place for everyone is really great," he said. "I hope to learn more from them about what they do and what their experiences are like in the world."
