Xiaomi Mi A3s encounter a major problem when trying to update to Android 11. Indeed, these do not respond at all once the update is installed, a problem that seems to persist since the beginning of the deployment at the end of last December. There is no solution to the bug at the moment, but in the meantime, Xiaomi has interrupted the release of the update in question.

At the end of last December, Xiaomi launched the deployment of Android 11 on its Mi A3 and, just like the move to Android 10, it is a fiasco. Several unlucky users have reported that their smartphone has been unresponsive since the update. Nothing seems to bring the device back to life and, even worse, no information for now indicates where this huge bug could come from.

“I received the Android 11 update today on my Mi A3 and after installing it and restarting the device, my smartphone is completely dead” thus indicates one of them by calling the manufacturer on Twitter. “It no longer charges and no longer lights up” " he continues. "What's going on ? My phone is completely dead for the New Year”.

Better wait to perform Android 11 update on Mi A3
Updating to Android 11 is quite complicated for many users. Last October, an annoying bug prevented full-screen viewing. More recently, SMS sending no longer worked on a number of smartphones, OnePlus devices in the lead. To date, Xiaomi A3s are victims of the bug related to the most serious update.

As a reminder, the update weighs 1.4 GB and improves the notification space, brings the conversation bubbles and allows better management of permissions. Xiaomi has, however, interrupted the deployment of this update. The manufacturer has indeed contacted us and brought us the following precision :

“We noticed that few Mi A3 users are facing problems with the recent OTA update of Android 11. Although the deployment has already been stopped on our side, our teams are striving to solve the problem as soon as possible. Customer experience is our top priority and we regret the inconvenience. We will keep all users informed of the next steps.”

This cuts short everything while waiting for a sustainable solution to be found through a new update.

Edge reportedly seduced 600 million users according to Microsoft

mEdge has attracted 600 million users. This is in any case what a job offer published by Microsoft on its official website claims. Enough to encourage Redmond's firm to continue its efforts to convince more users to switch to Microsoft Edge.

In January 2020, Microsoft changed its shoulder gun regarding its Microsoft Edge search browser. Redmond's firm chose to opt for Chromium Edge, a browser based on free software developed by the Chromium Project. This engine change allowed Edge to be deployed on almost all available platforms, such as Windows, macOS, iOS and Android.

But and as evidenced by a job offer published by the American giant on its official website, this strategy has paid off since 600 million users would have adopted Microsoft Edge. So, in this announcement for a position of chief software engineer for Microsoft Edge, we can read :

Microsoft Edge said some time ago that it will improve the Web through more open collaboration, while Edge promises users to do more and more. With greater availability, Edge has already reached 600 million users and is taking a new approach to navigation by putting the user at the center of the experience, whether on Windows 10, previous versions of Windows, on Mac and Android"”

An already established roadmap for Edge in 2021
As you can read In Microsoft's announcement, the company says it has “reached " 600 million users. In other words, it's hard to know if the company claims to have reached 600 million customers or if Edge actually has 600 million users.

But anyway, it is clear that the various strategies put in place by Microsoft to popularize its browser seem to work. In the summer of 2020, Microsoft Edge was crowned as the best anti-phishing browser by an American company specializing in computer security. Microsoft has a well-loaded roadmap for Edge in 2021 with the addition of vertical tabs, the removal of cookies, or the detection of PDF readers. These new features will be available in January 2021.
