At night, paddlers need at least one white light on their kayaks to be visible to oncoming boaters. All lights used for Night Kayaking must be waterproof and have new batteries when leaving for the night. A hand-held torch is sufficient for most paddlers. Check your local boating regulations for exact requirements. Boats over 16 feet often have higher lighting requirements. Find out the length of your Night Kayaking and be aware of the safety rules that apply to it.

The best "white light" for paddlers is a "deck light" (also called an anchor light). A bright white light that can be seen from all directions is ideal, but not very practical for the paddler. If they had a pole light, it would be awkward and would hinder the manoeuvrability of the kayak. A simple deck light would suit the paddler better.

Deck or (anchor) lights are usually mounted at the stern of the boat. Other lights are often used with the anchor light, such as the red port (left) and green starboard (right) lights. The white front light is less important if these other coloured lights are already visible from the front.

Navigation lights are often not needed on small vessels such as Night Kayaking, but they do increase the chances of being seen. For your unobstructed view, make sure that any navigation lights do not dazzle your eyes (point them straight ahead or slightly down if they affect your vision. Also make sure that the white anchor light is behind you. All of these will help maintain a clearer night's sleep.

One of the best things about kayaking is when you paddle with a dolphin or whale. It's always amazing to see whales and dolphins gliding alongside you and paddling alongside you. Other cool creatures include manta rays. Paddling with these creatures will always give you an unforgettable experience.

If you feel an affinity for nature, you should never miss an opportunity to kayak on the seas. However, you can only enjoy an unforgettable experience if you are familiar enough with the instructions and have everything you need to enjoy sea kayaking. Remember also that your kayaking equipment should be determined by your kayaking goals, and the satisfaction you get from kayaking is determined by the equipment you have. And, of course, you also need to know that the type of kayak you use in calm waters is not the same as the kayak you use in rough waters.

Start with proper safety and paddling techniques.

Start by getting yourself a course that teaches safety using some basic paddling tools. Remember that buying a kayak is an almost lifetime investment. Therefore, you need to create time and develop an interest in learning, which is extremely important to you. If you plan to start kayaking lessons on the water, choose calm and slow-moving waters. You should also start with a kayak that has a comfortable cabin for sitting in.

Headlights can also improve Kayaking At Night vision. They can also help with locating navigational aids such as channel markers and buoys.
