All About Sai Baba Pooja

Sai Baba is considered as an incarnation of the Adi Guru, Dattatreya and hence is worshipped as a Guru who guides those in distress. Guruvar or Thursday is regarded an ideal day to worship Sai Baba and gain his blessings. Pooja performed for Shirdi Sai Baba on Thursdays is called Sai Divya Pooja. This Sai Divya Pooja is performed in the count of 5, 7, 11, or 21 Thursdays. Sai Baba Pooja Procedure

Sai Baba Pooja can be begun on any Thursday. On the previous day, a clean white cloth the size of your palm is taken and soaked in turmeric water and dried completely. On Thursday, place an idol or photo of Sai Baba in the sacred altar and place a Tilak of sandalwood paste on him. Decorate with a garland of fresh yellow or orange colored flowers. Light a lamp and burn incense sticks in front of the idol. While doing the Pooja, place an idol of Ganesha, the God of new beginnings alongside of Sai Baba. Offer Prasad and chant Sai Baba Mantras or hymns.

Then, take the turmeric-immersed white cloth and place a 1 Rs or 2 Rs coin inside the cloth. Tie it down and place in front of Sai Baba.
