Saturday NFL Games Today TV Schedule: Channels, start times for Wild Card Weekend

Who plays in Saturday NFL games today? Here’s a look at all three matchups for Wild Card Weekend according to the NFL Games today TV Schedule.

Who plays in Saturday’s NFL Games?
Indianapolis Colts at Buffalo Bills
Channel: CBS
Start Time: 1:05 PM ET
The NFL postseason and road to Super Bowl LV kicks off with the Colts and Bills. Things really picked up for Indianapolis down the stretch. They won four of their last five games with the offense finding its groove. Part of what led to that groove was the emergence of rookie RB Jonathan Taylor, who rushed for 253 yards in Week 17. The Bills defense has steadily improved throughout the course of the season as well. If they are able to contain Taylor, slowing down this Colts’ offense becomes much easier.

Outside of the Kansas City Chiefs, the Buffalo Bills have the most lethal and dangerous offense, led by QB Josh Allen. Week 17 featured the starters and backups putting up 56 points against a top-notch Miami Dolphins defense. The Colts’ defense has performed admirably this season against some of the toughest challenges the NFL has to offer. However, while they might start out strong, this game feels similar to their matchup with Baltimore. The defense was stellar in the first half, but after getting steadily worn down, the flood gates finally burst in the second half. Buffalo can do the same thing.

Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks
Channel: FOX
Start Time: 4:40 PM ET
Round three of a season series split for the Rams and Seahawks kicks off at 4:40 PM ET according to the NFL Games today TV schedule. The Seahawks offense fell back to earth after QB Russell Wilson was lighting it up to start the season. The good news for them is that the defense has come into their own to end the season. Seattle held their opponent to under 20 points in five of their last six games.

Los Angeles, meanwhile, is in a rough spot. QB Jared Goff might play returning from thumb surgery. But regardless of whether an injured Goff or backup John Wolford plays, neither will command their offense better than Wilson. The question for Seattle is whether or not they can fend off the Rams No. 1 ranked defense. That was not the case in Week 7 when Wilson was held out of the endzone and Seattle scored just 16 points. Week 16’s battle was different, with Wilson finding headway and Seattle’s defense shutting LA down at home. Barring the worst performance of Wilson’s career, the Seahawks should find themselves with a date in the divisional round.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Washington Football Team
Channel: NBC
Start Time: 8:15 PM ET
“I Want Tom!”

This Saturday night NFL wild card weekend game is going to be a good one. Tampa Bay finished very strong, scoring 40 points in back-to-back weeks to end the season. Washington stumbled its way into the postseason, for a variety of reasons, but they made it. Part of the reason they made it was an uber-talented front seven paired with quality secondary coverage.

Washington has built a stout defensive unit over the past couple seasons. The 2020 offseason saw Washington re-acquire CB Kendall Fuller and sign CB Ronald Darby in free agency while drafting DE Chase Young with the second overall pick. Fuller and Darby vastly improved the CB room, and gave the monstrous defensive line of Young, Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne, and Montez Sweat enough time to feast in the backfield.

The Buccaneers’ offense and QB Tom Brady have struggled this season against good defenses. Losses to the Rams, Saints, and Bears, as well as a close call against the Giants, all had the opposing team’s defensive imprint on them.

However, like the Rams before them, Washington’s offense unfortunately finds itself in a rough QB predicament. QB Alex Smith played last week, but was out the two weeks before with a right calf strain. The offense has been Washington’s Achilles heel all season due to the sheer inconsistency of the unit. RB J.D. McKissic, TE Logan Thomas, and WR Terry McLaurin can only do so much without any sort of consistency at the QB position.

Washington’s defense will put up quite the valiant fight, but in the end, Brady will push Tampa to victory in vintage style, on Wild Card Weekend.

Here are our best bets for NFL Wild Card weekend.

Domenic Padula: Buffalo Bills -6.5 vs. Indianapolis Colts

For five weeks I’ve written about how the Buffalo Bills were the team with the best chance to upset the Kansas City Chiefs in a potential playoff game.

So it only makes sense that I take Buffalo to win a home playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts as my best bet this weekend.

No team is hotter than the Bills, who enter the playoffs on the heels of six straight double-digit wins and covers.

Josh Allen is coming off an MVP-calibre season in which he led a Buffalo offence to an average of 47.3 points per game over the final three weeks of the regular season.

With John Brown back in the lineup next to Stefon Diggs and Cole Beasley, this Bills attack will have its full cast of offensive playmakers available to allow Allen to stretch the defence.

Meanwhile, the Buffalo defence allowed just 5.8 yards per pass attempt over the final seven games of the regular season and will make it difficult on Philip Rivers and company to keep up.

I’ll take the Bills to win by a touchdown at home.

Pick: Bills -6.5

Chris Amberley: Baltimore Ravens -3 at Tennessee Titans

Aside from the Bills, there isn’t a playoff team you’d like to avoid more than the Baltimore Ravens on Wild Card Weekend.

The Ravens ended the season on a five-game winning streak, outscoring their opponents by 97 points during that stretch.

Lamar Jackson is back playing like his former MVP self, accounting for 15 touchdowns over the final five weeks, and now gets to face one of the softest defences in the NFL.

No playoff team allowed more yards or points per game than the Tennessee Titans, and only the Minnesota Vikings finished the season with a worst pass rush grade from Pro Football Focus.

Of course, the Titans were able to overcome their atrocious defence by scoring 30.7 points per game. However, we saw just two weeks ago at Lambeau Field how game-script dependent rushing King Derrick Henry is.

Tennessee is built to run the football and is not equipped to play catch up.

When they fall behind early, they’re forced to abandon the run, which puts extreme pressure on a weak pass blocking unit.
