This Weeks Story: Joe Taslim Becomes Sub-Zero in Mortal Kombat,

Interesting news comes from the world of Hollywood. The Mortal Kombat film , also starring Joe Taslim, has broken a separate record in terms of the number of teaser trailer video viewers on YouTube and social media.

The Deadline page conveyed that  , when combined with all YouTube accounts, the teaser trailer for Mortal Kombat which is included in the red band / restricted category (strict, adult only) has been watched by 116 million netizens.

This amount was immediately achieved only in the first week after being uploaded. So, the Mortal Kombat teaser trailer also broke the record for the most trailer audience for the red band category in a short time.

The calculations
The calculation of the number of viewers is taken from the total 52 official market accounts on YouTube and 28 official market accounts on Twitter. It also found that there were 98 percent of netizens with a positive to neutral tone. This means that rarely react negatively to the film adaptation of this 1990s fighting video game adaptation.

Bloody Scene
The Mortal Kombat trailer is included in the redband category because at the beginning of the trailer we can see how Joe Taslim's character, Sub-Zero, cuts off the two hands of a karaker named Jax with his ice power.

New Characters
In this film, introduced Cole Young (Lewis Tan), an MMA fighter who fights for money. He didn't realize that he had a dragon-shaped birthmark on his chest, closely related to his destiny.

Cole Young is a new character who has never been in the original video game. Some fans even refer to him as a substitute character for Johnny Cage.

The broadcast
Mortal Kombat, directed by Simon McQuoid, will hit theaters and HBO Max simultaneously on April 16, 2021.

The trailer for the Mortal Kombat film was finally released by Warner Bros on Thursday (18/2/2021). For the public in the country, the film based on this famous game is very special because it stars Joe Taslim who plays the character  Sub-Zero .

Fans of this classic game know very well that Sub-Zero, the ninja with the power of ice, is one of the most iconic characters in Mortal Kombat. The film director, Simon McQuoid, revealed that the role of Sub-Zero is very vital in this film. 

The starting point of this Mortal Kombat film will later be a bloody feud between the two clans. Two members of this clan, Hanzo Hasashi, played by Hiroyuki Sanada, dueled Bi-Han, played by Joe Taslim. Both of them were the forerunners of the iconic characters Scorpion and Sub-Zero.

This opening fight scene for 10 minutes is said to be vital in depicting the relationship between Sub-Zero and Scorpion. "It's like a family drama with brutal fights. 

Mortal Kombat is  known as a game full of blood. Even fatality, the term for the ultimate move of each hero in eliminating his enemy, is quite sadistic. 

Apparently this will also be included by the director in  Mortal Kombat . He has confirmed that this film may not be rated PG-13. 

The first trailer for  Mortal Kombat  , starring Joe Taslim, was released on Thursday (18/2/2021) just before midnight. This is a red band trailer, aka it has a restricted rating, which is only suitable for adult viewing.

From the 2.5-minute video, it appears that the film, which will be broadcast on April 16, 2021 in theaters and HBO Max, is faithfully following its blood-splattered game.

Joe Taslim's Sub-Zero character is shown attacking someone by freezing and mutilating the victim's arms. In the background, there is an audio saying that he is a fugitive.

Simon McQuoid recently held a special interview with entertainment media Entertainment Weekly . He describes what will be shown in the film adaptation of this game, one of which is the crucial role of the character played by Joe Taslim, Sub-Zero.
