#Andrew Romano-DeSantis as their COVID hero and possible 2024 nominee. But Floridas data tells a different story.

In the near future, U.S. governors will be judged for their response to a lot of justice epidemics that the Trump administration has forced them to handle on their own. In some cases, that decision will be presented in 2022, when they run for re-election. Others will try to give their COVID-19 ritual in the next presidential race.

According to the new Politico profile, Florida Gov. Ron Desantis has already identified himself as one of the White House's hopes for the pandemic. The basic premise of the story is that Sissentis of S2 year and in his first term, is the first to denigrate Florida Covid1’s response nationally to its “mask mandate” and its “resistance to restrictive measures ". And it "strengthened" a position among the elite in preparation for the 2022 election - and even a "conservative nationwide gossip about the presidency."

"The Covid war takes Descentis to the top of the GOP," the Politico headline announced.

Politics and public health are certainly two very different things. It’s entirely possible, perhaps, that Donald 1 percent of Republicans will continue to endorse Donald Trump, who will eventually reward DeSantis for COVID’s Lib ownership. But quoting a reporter with the line “when you can take my feet off but don’t say it’s raining” is sure to “treat the stereotype like an adrenaline rush” because a GOP strategist got into politics, not someone sick or from a covid to prevent death 

So how does the current Desantis record work?

This is an important question not only for Descentis but for any governor with ambitions in the years to come - people like Gavin Newsom of California and Andrew Cuomo of New York, whose leadership has garnered both praise and criticism.

The truth is that the governor can only control the virus so much that it does not respect the boundaries of the state and spreads more because of the choice of how it behaves by the individual. Weather, demographics and emerging variants are also factors - none of which can be the most powerful executive change. But a governor can help or hurt the situation by pulling different levers and sending different messages. When and what should you open, and in what capacity? How do you encourage (or, as it turns out, discourage) the mask? How is the dose of the vaccine given priority? What about schools? A retrospective look at the data suggests that under DeSantis, Florida's response was average. Overall, Surya State ranks third in the number of cases with more than 1 lakh cases and fourth in the number of deaths. On a per capita basis, Florida's categorization of those two measures is not nearly as frightening - 2nd and 2nd, respectively - but they're just not that big. And unlike states with more COVID-1 deaths per capita - states like New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Louisiana - Florida didn't get its feet wet in the first leg this spring. Instead, the mortality rate in the state of Dysentery has increased over time, as experts have learned more about keeping people safe.
