Idon’t know about you, but personally, I think there is absolutely nothing better than cozying up on the couch with a cup of tea, some yummy snacks, and a good ole fashion queer sex scene. Lesbian, gay, threesomes, an orgy, you name it, I love to watch it.

My love for LGBTQ+ movies—and especially the sex scenes—is mainly because 1) I'm tired of seeing mediocre men have sex with women way hotter than them. Like??? And 2) I'm especially into storylines that feature young bisexual women like me. (It's called representation, people—we love to see it!)

1. Below Her Mouth
Hey, hi, hello, this is the movie that is rated a solid NC-17. (That's one step above Rated-R.) And in doing my research for this story, this 2017 erotic drama directed by April Mullen was recommended to me seven! separate! times! for its super sensual lesbian sex scene.

Trust me when I say, it did not disappoint. I mean, it was straight up porn with a small plot.

In this film, Jasmine, a successful fashion editor, is living with her fiancé when she meets Dallas on a night out on the town. While they don’t immediately get together, the game of hard to get pays off with a sex scene that lasts over five minutes, from foreplay to intercourse, all from the female gaze. A word of advice: Watch this movie alone or with a lover because once it’s over… you won’t be going straight to bed.
2. Princess Cyd
Princess Cyd is a beautiful coming-of-age film that focuses on a teenage girl and her aunt as they go through a summer of transformation involving identity, sexuality, and inner desires. The love scene—which I register as love, not sex—features a femme-androgynous relationship that is both intimate and relatable. No matter your sexuality, what makes this film so hot is the visual interpretation of first-time love and sexual exploration.
3. Bound
Directed by Lana and Lilly Wachowski, Bound is a 1996 neo-noir thriller about two queer women who try to steal millions of dollars from the Mafia. (Two women trying to take down a bunch of men? Count me in.)

But if the plot alone isn’t hot enough for you, the sex scene (which has gone down in cinematic history) features an intense fingering scene that will leave you quivering by association. But what really makes the sex scene special is that according to Vulture, the directors brought in a lesbian sex specialist to make it as authentic as possible.
4. Carol
When an aspiring photographer sees a glamourous-looking married woman window shopping at a Manhattan department store in the 1950’s, she is awestruck. Throughout the film, a bond develops that creates a romance that is hard to forget.

I mean the fashion, the elegance, and the Cate Blanchett of it all...! I’m getting hot just writing about it. What makes this film so sexy is the level of intimacy shown on screen between the two women. It’s a very sensual, slow, scene that clearly shows the dynamic of the relationship. It’s sexy without revealing too much.
5. Disobedience
Disobedience is a drama that tells the story of two lesbians living in the orthodox Jewish community and the challenges they face in embracing their true feelings. It’s emotional, tender, and passionate beyond belief. The buildup between the two women truly pays off in a sex scene so raw, you almost feel like you are invading their privacy. But the icing on the cake really is watching Rachel Weisz spit into Rachel McAdams' mouth as she fingers her. Yup. I really don’t think anymore needs to be said.
6. Moonlight
Moonlight is a beautiful coming-of-age drama film written and directed by Barry Jenkins that follows a young black man growing up in Miami. The sex scene, which is no more than a handjob on a beach, may be less graphic than some of the other movies on this list, but that doesn’t mean it’s not impactful. The whole movie is an honest and exciting depiction of black queer exploration and if you haven’t seen it, add it to your watch list ASAP.
7. Wet Hot American Summer
Wet Hot American Summer is an iconic movie for a number of reasons, but mainly because of Bradley Cooper getting railed in a tool shed in an act of passion. The film follows a group of friends at summer camp as they get into all kinds of shenanigans, and if that scene isn’t motivation enough to watch it, let me remind you that the cast also includes Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler.
8. Gia
Gia wasn’t a movie I had heard about before I started research for this story, so let me be the first to tell you that I was missing out. Big time. The film, which follows one of the first supermodels, Gia Carangi, as she goes through life, has everything you want in a 90s movie: Angelina Jolie, lesbians, and really bad haircuts. But really, it’s the sex scene with Jolie getting felt up through a chain link fence that puts this movie on this list.
9. Chloe
If you ever wanted to watch Julianne Moore and Amanda Seyfriend makeout in the nude, then Chloe is the film for you. While you really don’t need to know more than that, the movie is about an escort who is hired by a woman who wants to test the faithfulness of her husband. The sex scene is dynamic, beautiful, and just all around super sexy.
