Rory McIlory is on course to become the world's No.1 ranked golfer after firing a third round 66 at the Honda Classic on Saturday.

The Northern Irishman leads America's Harris English and overnight co-leader Tom Gillis by two strokes after an assured display on the back nine at the PGA National Champion Course in Florida.

But the 22-year-old regained his composure coming home, with birdies at the par-four 11th, the par-three 15th and another at the par-five 18th to finish four-under for the day and 11 under overall.
