Finch and Grace share lead at Joburg Open rosined

South Africa's Branden Grace and Englishman Richard Finch are tied at the top of the leaderboard on 15-under par after the third day's play at the Joburg Open on Saturday.

Both players have yet to complete their third rounds due to delays caused by thunderstorms on the first and second days.

Along with many other players including overnight leader England's Robert Rock, Grace and Finch have only a handful of holes to complete before they can start their final rounds on Sunday.

At close of play, which was again halted prematurely by heavy rain, Grace had completed 15 holes which included five birdies, while Finch was four-under par for his third round having completed one hole fewer.

While completing his second round earlier in the day Finch recorded a hole-in-one at the par three 12th hole on the East Course at the Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club which helped him to a six-under par round of 66.

He and Grace are one shot ahead of South African George Coetzee who is three under par (and 14 under overall) after completing 14 holes of his third round.

Two shots back on 12-under par and tied for fourth place are Canadian Andrew Parr and another South African Dawie van der Walt who have both completed their third rounds.

Parr had a particularly fine day shooting a faultless eight-under par round of 64, while van der Walt posted a very tidy 67.

Rock is a shot further adrift in a tie for seventh on 11-under par.

Reigning Masters champion Charl Schwartzel missed the cut by one shot, thus ending any hopes of him winning the tournament for the third year in succession.

Meanwhile in Hawaii at the Sony Open, Matt Every posted a second round six-under par 64 to lead Canada's David Hearn (66) and Sweden's Carl Pettersson (67) by two shots heading into the weekend.

Every, who finished his round in style with three consecutive birdies, is currently 10-under par.

Three players are tied for fourth on seven-under par including Americans Pat Perez and Doug LaBelle II, and Zimbabwe's Brendon de Jonge who carded a 62 -- the lowest round of the day and the tournament so far.
