Bollywood revolution from then to now!

Indian cinema aka Bollywood is now very famous around the world. Bollywood songs and movies attracted Indians as well as foreigners. Bollywood has made a special place in world entertainment and it's now become capable to compare with Hollywood. In this article let's see how Bollywood changed from 1913 to 2021.In India, before 1913 people get entertained by stage shows and drama. Then 1st Indian film that was released in 1913 was "Raja Harischandra". Raja Harischandra was a black and white, silent film directed, produced, make-up, editing, and shooting done by "Dadasaheb Phalke". From 1913 to 1918 Dadasaheb Phalke made 23 movies. Because of Dadasaheb Phalke's big contribution to Indian cinema, he is referred to as the "Father of Indian cinema". Soon Dadasaheb Phalke movies started attracting audiences and people started watching movies in theaters. Then in 1931 1st Indian sound film was released "Alam Ara" directed by "Ved Trivedi". This movie was made on a budget of US$14,000 (10 lakh rupees) approximately. In 1937 1st Indian color movie was made "Kisan Kanya", directed by "Moti B. Gidwani". Because in Indian different states has different language so soon this states started making their own language movies like Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Bengali, and Punjabi, etc. But Bollywood movies are released all over India. Bollywood made religious and history movies in starting, then they started making movies on the subject of lifestyle, social life. In 1920 approximately 20 films were released. In 1930 Bollywood made more than 200 plus movies. In 1970 "Bombay" a place where most movies were made and "Hollywood" combined, made a name "Bollywood". Slowly after 1970 Bollywood started making love-drama and action movies. Bollywood made technical updates and started adapting better equipment for better quality. After 2000 Bollywood movies started releasing internationally. Bollywood celebrities like Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Irfan Khan, Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Mallika Sherawat are got an appearance in international movies. Bollywood's highest-grossing film as of 2020 is Dangal (2016) which earned ₹2,024 crores (US$287 million). Bollywood's highest budget movie is Thugs of Hindostan (2018) which is made in approximately ₹220 crores (US$32.17 million). In 2019 Bollywood released over 188 movies. In 2019 Bollywood generated $4 Billion which was the 2nd highest revenue generated Entertainment industry in the world after Hollywood. Bollywood has more than 5+ songs per movie. Songs play a big role in the success of Bollywood movies. Bollywood made many changes to become better. Bollywood has big actors like Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Salman Khan. Bollywood is now moving from the love-drama genre to the fiction section. Movies like Ra. one, Krrish, Joker, and Enthiran, etc are perfect examples of this. There are many foreign YouTube channels that are started to react to Bollywood content. One of the big Bollywood reaction channels is Jaby Koay. These channels are learning more about Indian content and spreading love. Bollywood still has to explore more like Hollywood.
