A study shows that physical exercise during pregnancy can benefit the metabolic effects of a future baby. The study was led by authors from the Joslin Diabetes Center at Harvard Medical School and colleagues from Japan, the United States, Canada, and Denmark.

"These findings provide an explanation for why physical exercise during pregnancy may have metabolic benefits for offspring as you age," Goodyear said.
