Justice League: Everything We HAVENT Seen in the Snyder

Here are all the surprises still to come in Zack Snyder's Justice League. As the Snyder cut's long-awaited release approaches, teasers and trailers continue to hype the arrival of this authentic, original Justice League. Following widespread criticism of the 2017 theatrical version overseen by Joss Whedon at the request of Warner Bros., Zack Snyder will finally show the world what he meant the DCEU's big crossover to be (unless Tom & Jerry spoil it first, of course).

The trailers released for Zack Snyder's Justice League have revealed a plethora of new additions, including Superman's black suit, Darkseid, Iris West, Cyborg's backstory, Granny Goodness, Desaad, Joker, and more. This might seem like a lot to give away, but the Snyder cut still has plenty up its sleeve. Through story details unearthed over the past 4 years, DC fans already have some idea of what the Snyder cut entails and, therefore, know there's much the trailers have kept hidden.

Zack Snyder's Justice League might also spring surprises that'll catch the audience off-guard entirely. This makes sense, given the 4-hour runtime for this bumper edition of Justice League, and with so much story to tell, the trailers can't possibly spoil everything. These are the cards Zack Snyder's Justice League is keeping close to its chest.

The marketing team behind Zack Snyder's Justice League has wisely put Darkseid front and center of their campaign. The iconic DC villain became the face of the Snyder cut after getting axed by Joss Whedon (despite years of DCEU setup), but there's still much we don't know about the ruler of Apokolips. Most of the Darkseid footage glimpsed so far has been sourced from his days as Uxas, long in the past, and before he attained the overwhelming powers of Omega. Trailers have shown Darkseid preparing for his invasion alongside acolytes Desaad, Granny Goodness and Steppenwolf, but fans are yet to see him interact with the Justice League, wield his Omega Effect, or invade Earth ahead of the Knightmare timeline.

Originally, Justice League was supposed to end with Darkseid's arrival via Boom Tube, and that may still be how Zack Snyder's Justice League concludes. If so, trailers would not have had a wealth of "final form" Darkseid footage to play with. On the other hand, the Snyder cut will likely show more of Darkseid's Omega abilities, and explain how his invasion brought about the Knightmare future, none of which has been hinted at ahead of time.

Zack Snyder's Justice League will bring back the Knightmare timeline from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Through concept art and story leaks, it seems that the Justice League's few remaining members (Batman, Cyborg & Flash) use a cosmic treadmill and Flash's speed to travel back through time and alter history, preventing the post-apocalyptic future from ever happening. But the Knightmare footage released in trailers has largely involved Ben Affleck wandering around a wasteland with a gun, or Jared Leto's redesigned Joker waxing lyrical over "societies."

The core story of the Zack Snyder's Justice League Knightmare remains largely hidden. Trailers have shown very little of Bruce Wayne's overarching plan, while the futuristic versions of Cyborg and Flash have barely featured at all. There's very little focus on exactly how the Justice League plan to save the world, and it's not even clear what happened to Wonder Woman and Aquaman. In a recent short teaser, Affleck's Batman can be heard telling Flash to run faster than ever before, and this line could be derived from the team's grand plan to rewrite history.

Another element of the Knightmare timeline we've yet to see properly is Deathstroke. Joe Manganiello's villain debuted in the post-credits of 2017's Justice League, and the character returns in the Snyder cut, complete with a fresh hairstyle and a mighty grudge against the Caped Crusader. A flash of Slade Wilson's face is included in one of many Snyder cut teasers released in the run-up to March 18, but there's no indication of what he's actually planning, or how the mercenary might get involved in the story. Based on suggestions from Zack Snyder himself (combined with unused plans for Ben Affleck's Batman solo movie) it's possible that Deathstroke will embark on a campaign of destruction against Bruce Wayne after discovering the vigilante's true identity. Unfortunately, the brief shots of Wilson's face don't give anything away about his arc.
