“Nobody” (directed by Ilya Naishuller)
Distributor: Universal Pictures
Where to Find It: Theaters

“Nobody” works in fits and starts, but it’s hard to argue with a movie so eager to please. Bob Odenkirk’s meta-machismo performance sits at the center of this hyper-stylized action ride like an extended cartoon punchline, much like Keanu Reeves has across three “John Wick” movies. And “Nobody” essentially functions as a loony expansion pack of that franchise, with a script by “John Wick” co-writer Derek Kolstad built around hard-knuckle showdowns and shoot-em-ups directed by Ilya Naishuller, in his first credit since the similarly high-octane lunacy of the first-person spectacle “Hardcore Henry.” This kind of ham-fisted, ass-kicking filmmaking wraps its bloody violence in air quotes for a breezy 86 minutes, and while it doesn’t exactly linger, there’s plenty of fun here in small doses. New Films on VOD and Streaming
“Bad Trip” (directed by Kitao Sakurai)
Distributor: Netflix
Where to Find It: Streaming on Netflix

It only takes Eric André a couple of minutes to get naked in “Bad Trip,” and another half hour before he’s sodomized by a gorilla, which should give you a sense of how quickly this goofy hidden camera romp careens from zero to crazy and just keeps going. In director Kitao Sakurai’s quasi-scripted comedy, the comedian plays a klutzy reprobate who drives from Miami to New York in search of his high school crush, but the flimsy plot is little more than an excuse for André to screw with people up and down the Eastern Seaboard. “Collective” (directed by Alexander Nanau)
Distributor: Magnolia Pictures, Participant
Where to Find It: Streaming on Hulu

“Collective” starts as one of the greatest journalism movies of all times, and then it goes one step further, exposing democracy at war with itself. Romanian director Alexander Nanau’s bracing, relentless documentary tracks the aftermath of the 2015 fire that killed 64 people, hovering at the center of a system on the verge of collapse. And then it does, much like the flames that engulfed Bucharest’s Colectiv nightclub and sent the nation into a tailspin, as “Collective” sits at the center of the chaos with an unflinching gaze. Nanau adopts a remarkable vérité approach to the material that, outside of some brief introductory credits, lets the footage speak for itself. From its opening moments to the devastating finale, “Collective” plays like a gripping real-time thriller. Read IndieWire’s full review.

“Tina” (directed by Dan Lindsay and T.J. Martin)
Distributor: HBO Max
Where to Find It: HBO broadcast premiere on March 27, available to stream on HBO Max starting on March 28

手表4k!!! 複製人徐福 (2021)-完整版免費觀看在線▷ 《Seobok》 1080.p

Authorized biographies and biopics can suffer from a lack of objectivity, but “Tina” makes a very good case for its one-sided narrative. Directed by Oscar nominees Dan Lindsay and T.J. Martin with Turner’s full participation, “Tina” offers the final word in the long saga of Tina Turner. It’s the first documentary about the musical legend, and aside from the fact that no such film would exist without Turner’s approval, it offers an illuminating take on her complicated trajectory while humanizing the larger than life diva. Told in five sections laid out with chapter numbers and headings, “Tina” foregoes a straightforward chronology to instead frame the film around her traumatic past and attempts to wrest back control of her story. It’s a more compelling structure than the simple historical narrative, though a little more focus on the music would have been nice. Read IndieWire’s full review.

“Violation” (directed by Madeleine Sims-Fewer and Dusty Mancinelli)
Distributor: Shudder
Where to Find It: Streaming on Shudder

A resolutely disturbing genre thriller, it opens with the ominous image of a pitch black wolf feasting on a rabbit carcass as eerie choral music pulses hypnotically. “Violation” is sprinkled with a healthy dose of animal imagery — like the kind found in Andrea Arnold’s films — from spiders flailing under jars to the actual skinning of rabbits. Whether Miriam (Madeleine Sims-Fewer) is recalling how her shifty brother-in-law Dylan (Jesse LaVercombe) used to pick the wings off of flies when they were kids, or she’s draining the blood from him like the rabbits he catches in wooden traps, the symbolism isn’t hard to follow. “A Week Away” (directed by Roman White)
Distributor: Netflix
Where to Find It: Streaming on Netflix

哥斯拉大戰金剛!!! [最新电影2021] 《Godzilla vs. Kong》 完整版 線上看中文配音免費

God doesn’t take the stage until the second song in Roman White’s good-hearted summer camp-set Netflix musical “A Week Away.” His sudden invocation hints at a cheeky sense of humor about the whole thing that is sadly lacking from the majority of the movie. There’s nothing really sneaky about the white bread Christianity — pretty plain stuff about how God loves everyone and it’s nice to be kind to people — at the soul of White’s film, but the sudden mentions of God, the Bible, and salvation are first introduced with a winking nature that hints at a funnier, fresher feature underneath. Yet even as “A Week Away” wears its relentlessly optimistic and cheesy soul on its sleeve, it’s hard to dislike. Read IndieWire’s full review.

“Nina Wu” (directed by Midi Z)
Distributor: Film Movement
Where to Find It: Choose your local cinema through the film’s virtual cinema page

Taipei actress Nina Wu — played by screenwriter Wu Ke-Xi in a steel-jawed dagger of a performance — hasn’t landed a movie role in the six years since she’s trickled down to the big city from the rural farm town where she was raised. In lieu of acting gigs, she pays the bills by working as a cam girl from her drab apartment, but most of the time she’s just another face in the bustling crowds. Then: A chance to stand out. Nina’s agent dangles an audition for a risqué part in an erotic spy thriller from a hot young director, and while the thirtysomething actress is hesitant about exposing herself on screen (and to the vulnerability that shooting those scenes would require from her), her shit-eating agent makes it clear that this is less of a choice than a crucible.
