Paredes: "Leonardo tratará de convencer a Messi"

El centrocampista argentino aseguró que sería un honor para él compartir vestuario en París con el astro argentino y que el club trabajará para convencerle.

La entrevista de Leonardo el martes en France Football, asegurando que un jugador como Messi está siempre en los planes del PSG, ha desatado una ola de rumores que han situado al astro argentino en la Ligue 1 la próxima temporada. Leandro Paredes, centrocampista del conjunto parisino y compañero de Messi en la selección, aseguró que Leonardo tratará de convencerle para que fiche la próxima temporada.

"Todos queremos jugar al lado de Leo Messi. Yo también. Es natural que todos queramos tener a un jugador así en nuestro equipo. Pero este tipo de decisiones pertenecen al club y a la dirección deportiva, por lo que Leonardo y nuestro presidente tienen que convencerle para traerle al equipo. El mediocentro, relacionado recientemente con el Inter para un posible intercambio con Eriksen, aseguró que está muy feliz en París y que espera seguir en el PSG durante muchos años: "Sé que se ha hablado mucho de mi futuro en las últimas semanas, pero voy a seguir aquí. Estoy feliz y espero seguir muchos años en París"

Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has been left out of FIFA 21 Team of the Year's starting XI -- the first time since Ultimate Team was introduced in 2009.
EA Sports officially unveiled the Team of the Year for the latest title in the franchise, with over 10m votes cast from 185 countries.

And Messi, who has appeared in every starting XI since FIFA 09, missed out on a place to Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe.

Bayern Munich shot-stopper Manuel Neuer is between the sticks, with a back four featuring fellow teammate Alphonso Davies.

Davies is at left-back and Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold is at right-back, while the centre-back partnership consists of Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos and Reds star Virgil van Dijk.

Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne is in a midfield trio with Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes and Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich.

Joining Mbappe in the attacking trident is Messi's fierce rival Cristiano Ronaldo, who is out on the left wing.

Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski, who was widely tipped to win the Ballon d'Or in 2020 before France Football's award was cancelled, leads the Team of the Year as the lone striker.

Messi could still earn a Team of the Year card next week when EA Sports reveals who was selected as the '12th man.'

The 33-year-old ended the previous season as Barcelona's top scorer, despite the Spanish side failing to land any major silverware.

Barcelona fail with Lionel Messi ban appeal

Barcelona will have to cope without Lionel Messi against Elche on Sunday after their bid to have the captain’s two-man ban overturned unsurprisingly failed.

Messi sat out Thursday’s win over Cornella in the Copa del Rey and will now complete his suspension at the weekend after the RFEF upheld their decision.

The Barca captain saw red in the final of the Spanish Super Cup after lashing out at substitute Asier Villalibre. It was the first red card of his Barcelona career.

“The Spanish FA have turned down FC Barcelona’s appeal against Leo Messi’s two match ban following his first ever red card in a Barça shirt against Athletic Club in the Spanish Super Cup final. As a result the Argentine will serve the second game of the suspension on Sunday in the La Liga away fixture at Elche.”

The next game Messi will be available for is the Copa del Rey last 16 clash against Rayo Vallecano which has now been scheduled for Wednesday.

It’s not clear if Ronald Koeman will use him in that match or keep him in reserve for the visit of Athletic to the Camp Nou next weekend.
