One sleepy evening while riding the subway, I overheard someone say: “Men tell lies . . . women tell lies . . . numbers tell truths.” As far as numbers go, they tell of the following story.

A few years ago I came across an old article from The New Yorker titled The Great Foreigner. In the classic piece, the writer Niccolo Tucci replays a memorable visit to the icon’s home in Princeton. Apparently Tucci’s mother-in-law and Einstein were old pals.

As far as “stuffed” goes, Musk roasted colleges for being stuffed with “annoying homework assignments. […] I think colleges are basically for fun and to prove you can do your chores, but they’re not for learning.”

“Excellent!” I rubbed my hands. “Guess what: around campus Bill Gates is known as Harvard’s Most Successful Dropout!” But I could sense my uncle wasn’t buying that with my money. So I continued. “And guess who came in second place to Gates for the coveted prize?”

In short, whether your last name is Gates or Jobs or Zuckerberg or any college dropout who went on to become a billionaire, the only way to join the billionaires’ club is to master the following formula.
