Guardians of the Galaxy Movie Review: Visuals Spoil the Eyes!

What happens when several individuals have different goals and objectives but are forced to unite themselves into one group to save the world? This is what you can get from Marvel's newest film, "Guardians of the Galaxy". This film is one of the Marvel films that are included in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where the storyline will continue to lead to “The Avengers 2” in 2015. The film "Guardians of the Galaxy" itself is Marvel's last film for 2014. However, Marvel and Disney are trying to provide a "closing" film in 2014 that is sweet enough to be enjoyed.

Main Plot

Peter Quill, a man who works for the Ravagers where group is a group of space pirates, steals a mysterious orb on an uninhabited planet. He carries the ball without knowing what the ball is, and he also receives threats from people who want to take it. Ronan, a fanatical Kree, is about to grab a mysterious ball that turns out to have great power to destroy planets and even the entire space.

Not wanting the mysterious ball to fall into the wrong hands, Peter and four other alien creatures are forced to work together to save the world and get what each of them wants. Although of course, the first thing they have to do is equalize the priority goals of their different desires with one another.

Can Peter and his colleagues prevent the mysterious ball from falling into the hands of bad people and save the entire galaxy? And will the five of them finally be able to work together without having to fight each other first? Everything will be answered in the film "Guardians of the Galaxy".

Enjoyable Visuals!

Slightly different from other superhero action films in general, "Guardians of the Galaxy" will offer a little more of the antics of the characters. The audience can be made laugh by the statements and actions of several characters throughout the film. The expertise of the artists in playing each character needs thumbs up. But of course, this film does not forget the elements of drama as well as combat action and scuffles that are no less interesting. "Guardians of the Galaxy" offers a visual refinement that delights the eyes of the audience and there is no need to doubt it, especially in location settings and battle scenes in outer space.

The story and concept presented by the film "Guardians of the Galaxy" may be quite simple, where there are five people with different desires and goals who finally have to join forces with each other to save the world and seize deadly weapons from the hands of evil. However, from this simplicity, "Guardians of the Galaxy" may provide quite good moral values. Even though it is brief, the dynamics of the relationship between the characters who are completely different are described as interesting and not monotonous, which can also be seen in the development of the relationships between these characters throughout the film. Unfortunately, there are not many detailed explanations about each of the main characters from the film, although most likely several plot holes contained in this film may refer to the film "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" which is scheduled to air in 2017.

Guardians of the Galaxy" can be said to be a superhero film that is unique and different from most other Marvel films. Although this film is the last film for 2014 before we will be presented with "The Avengers 2" in 2015, the film "Guardians of the Galaxy" is one of the must-watch films for this year because of its uniqueness. Of course, to maximize visual refinement and add to a more enjoyable viewing experience, it is highly recommended to watch the movie "Guardians of the Galaxy" in 3D or IMAX format.

Turned down the role in the film Guardians of the Galaxy, this is the reason, Amanda Seyfried

Amanda Seyfried discusses the experience of turning down the role in Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy. Amanda Seyfried turned down the role of the character Gamora. 

Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the most successful film series from Marvel Studios. The characters, especially Gamora, also play an important role in the story in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). 

Gamora has an important role in finding the infinity stone and fighting Thanos in the films Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). On the other hand, Guardians of the Galaxy also carries its own unique story in the MCU. 

However, before the screening of the 2014 film Guardians of the Galaxy, not many expected this film to be a success. What's more,  Guardians of the Galaxy features unique characters that are far from the superhero image of Marvel. 

Amanda Seyfried rejected Marvel films
Launch Cinemablend, Amanda Seyfried in an interview with THR Awards podcast Chater disclose the reasons for rejecting Gamora. "I don't want to be part of Marvel's first flop," he said.

"I said, who wants to see a movie about talking trees and raccoons? Which, I was very wrong," he admits. Even though she admits that she misjudged this film, Amanda Seyfried still praised the script for the film Guardians of the Galaxy.

She said, "If you're a star of a big movie like that and fail, Hollywood won't forgive you. I've seen it happen to other people and it's a big fear, and I thought, is this worth it?"

Amanda Seyfried turned out to have sufficient reason to turn down this role. Oftentimes, a film with a unique story is doubtful for its success until it finally airs and becomes truly popular. 

Amanda Seyfried also felt that she didn't fit into the filming process which often used green screens. The actress doesn't want to spend any longer at the dressing table than the set to be green like Gamora for 6 months.
