Happy Koeman See Pique and Griezmann Fight
Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman is happy to see two of his players, defender Gerard Pique and striker Antoine Griezmann making a scene.
Pique and Griezmann reportedly fought when Barcelona were beaten by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) 1-4 in the first leg of the Champions League last 16 at Camp Nou, in the middle of last week.
However, Ronald Koeman does not mind that his two best players make a fuss in the middle of the field in important matches.
During the match, there were a lot of emotions. There are things that cannot be accepted. It feels good to have people who react and are not happy. You will not ask for help, "said Koeman quoted from Marca.
"During the match it doesn't matter if these things happen, I like it. Then you have to talk and hang out. You have to try your best to win the game. I don't like them to be quiet," Koeman added.
The bad incident between Pique and Griezmann occurred when the scores drew 1-1 in the first half. Griezmann and Pique are involved in a debate about playing tactics.
When the position was still evenly strong, Pique shouted at Griezmann to hold the ball longer and demonstrate possession to lower the tempo of the game.
At the incident that occurred in the 39th minute, Pique not only shouted, but also shouted with harsh words. Griezmann did not accept this and scolded Pique back. Pique responded again to Griezmann's response.
The commotion between the two players seems to be the beginning of disaster for Barcelona at home. Blaugrana's game was getting more and more devastated until finally losing 1-4.
The defeat was a loss for Lionel Messi and his friends, because they had to fight extra hard in the second leg at home to PSG in order to qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals.
Tuchel's reason for Hudson Odoi's strange replacement
Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel made an unusual substitution when he pulled out Callum Hudson-Odoi in the match against Southampton at St's Stadium. Mary's, Saturday (20/2).
Tuchel just entered Hudson-Odoi at the start of the second half. The Blues winger came on to replace striker Tammy Abraham, who couldn't do much up front.
However, Hudson-Odoi was only given 30 minutes to play. Tuchel pulled out the young English player and replaced him with Hakim Ziyech in the 76th minute.
Hudson-Odoi looked unhappy with the substitution. The player coached by the West London academy team was caught on camera kicking a drinking bottle because he was upset about being replaced by another player.
Tuchel admitted that he pulled out Hudson-Odoi because the player was deemed unable to have a positive impact on team play.
"We included Callum Hudson-Odoi but I was not happy with his attitude, his energy. I pulled him out because we demanded 100 percent," Tuchel said as quoted by the Evening Standard.
"I feel he is not in the right condition to help us. It was a difficult decision but tomorrow it has been forgotten and he has the possibility to start against Atletico Madrid [in the Champions League]," he continued.
Hudson-Odoi himself is one of Tuchel's mainstay players since being appointed Chelsea coach. Hudson-Odoi often plays as a right winger in a 3-4-1-2 formation.
In this match, Chelsea fell behind Sothampton first because of a goal scored by Takumi Minamino. The hosts' goal was only rewarded in the second half thanks to Mason Mount's penalty at the start of the second half.
These results make Chelsea move up to fourth in the standings with 43 points. While Southampton are in 13th place with 30 points.
Pique choose to retire than with Messi in Barcelona
Gerard Pique is claimed to have chosen to retire next season and will not be the same team as Lionel Messi who can stay at Barcelona.
Pique has made a choice regarding his future at the Blaugrana. The former Manchester United player will hang up his boots.
Pique's desire to resign as a player was revealed since last season, when Barcelona were beaten by Bayern Munich 2-8 in the Champions League. After the match, Pique hinted that Barcelona were rejuvenating the squad.
Quoted from Don Balon, another factor that pushed Pique to retire was the business he built. Pique's future in the business world is said to be better than remaining a footballer.
Because of that Pique is also not afraid to take steps to retire and is not in the same team as Messi. The report also stated that Pique had submitted the decision to retire to his immediate environment.
The plan, on Tuesday (23/2) local time in the second leg of the last 16 of the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain, Pique will discuss his decision with future club president Joan Laporta.
Pique's resolve is different from Messi's. La Pulga is still struggling with the choice to stay at Barcelona or join another club during the season
