It’s time to head down to Augusta National this weekend as the PGA Tour kicks off The Masters 2021. Help on schedule this year after the COVID-19 pandemic pushed it back to the fall last year, The Masters is on track for its traditional springtime opening as golfing’s best gather for this weekend’s tournament in Augusta, Georgia. Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Bryson DeChambeau and Rory McIlroy are among the favorites to don the Green Jacket by the end of the weekend.

Less than five months after Tiger Woods presented Dustin Johnson with the iconic Green Jacket, the world's best golfers are back at Augusta for the 2021 Masters. Can Johnson become just the third player to win back-to-back Masters, or is this Bryson DeChambeau's time? Intriguingly, 2015 champion Jordan Spieth has returned to form at last, winning the Texas Open at the weekend to end a barren three-year spell, while Justin Thomas and Jon Rahm are also amongst the front-runners. And, 10 years after his final round collapse, it would also be foolish to overlook Rory McIlroy, who may well have his own Tiger Woods moment at the National.

It's the pinnacle of the golfing year — and time to learn how to watch the Masters 2021. And trust us, you won't want to miss the action from the Augusta National, because this looks like one of the most wide-open contests in recent memory.
For those of you with short memories, the 2020 Masters took place just five months ago, moving to November from its usual springtime slot due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Not that the change threw world number one Dustin Johnson off his stride — he stormed to a dominant five-shot victory with a record-breaking 20 under-par total for his first Green Jacket and second Major overall.
Those iconic azaleas are back in bloom for the 2021 Masters, but Johnson has struggled in recent weeks and arrives at Augusta with some work to do if he's to hold off challengers such as the in-form Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth.
Elsewhere, there's no Tiger Woods this year due to his recent car crash, but among the other former winners, Patrick Reed, Sergio Garcia and Adam Scott will all be hoping to add a second Green Jacket, while Phil Mickelson will be eyeing up a fourth. That's not very likely, but it's not out of the question that either Rory McIlroy or Lee Westwood could win their first after coming close many times in the past.
As with all Masters championships, though, the course itself will be as much of a star as the players attempting to tame those super-fast greens and immaculately cut fairways. The good news is that you can watch the Masters 2021 golf wherever you are — starting from today (Thursday, April 8).
The tournament has always been a how-low-can-you-go affair, but the pandemic-related shift to last November handed greater control of the course to Mother Nature, and man, was she ever kind to the players.
They’ve already found a very different Augusta National lying in wait this week, in large part because warmer spring temperatures helped tournament officials restore the fairways and greens to their usual fast and firm conditions. But whether those same green jackets cranked the dial up too far to avenge record low scoring by the champion —and just about everyone else — is a question that won’t be answered until Sunday, if ever.
“We don’t have any prescribed score,” club Chairman Fred Ridley said Wednesday. “The fact that Dustin was 20 under was a combination of his extraordinary play that at the same time, admittedly, the golf course was soft. ... I think the time of year combined with the wet conditions produced an extraordinarily soft golf course.
“But that,” he added a moment later, “really had nothing to do with the way the golf course is playing right now.”
