Marvel lanza primer avance de su esperada película “Eternals”

Marvel lanzó este lunes el primer avance de su nueva y esperada película Eternals, la cual está dirigida por Chloé Zhao, que se convirtió en la segunda mujer en ser galardonada como Mejor Director en los premios Oscar por su película Nomadland.

Después de haber culminado con la saga de Avengers, Marvel tiene a Eternals como su próxima producción más esperada con un elenco llenó de estrellas.

Eternals cuenta la historia de una raza inmortal que ha vivido en la Tierra durante siete mil años, pero nunca ha interferido en la vida de los seres humanos. Esto cambia cuando se tienen que reunir para proteger a la humanidad de los Desviantes, su equivalente malvado que tiene una presencia monstruosa.

El elenco incluye a estrellas de Hollywood ya consolidadas y también a otras jóvenes estrellas.

El reparto incluye a Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Lia McHugh, Don Lee, Gemma Chan. Además también tiene a dos actores principales de la serie Game of Thrones, a Richard Madden y Kit Harrington, que eran hermanos en la aclamada serie de HBO.

Fue por medio de sus redes sociales y de la plataforma de YouTube que Marvel lanzó un detallado tráiler de su nuevos superheroes interpretados por Angelina Jolie (“Thena”), Salma hayek (“Ajak”), Gemma Chan (“Sersi”), Richard Madden (“Ikaris”), Kit Harington (“Dane Whitman”) y muchos más.

Hay que señalar que la historia de “Eternals” abarca miles de años y muestra a un grupo de héroes inmortales, los cuales son forzados a salir de las sombras para luchar contra el enemigo más antiguo de la humanidad conocido como “The Devianst”.

Cambio de nombre 
Hay que señalar que esta cinta fue dirigida por Chloé Zhao, que recientemente ganadora del Premio Oscar por “Nomadland”. 

Por otro lado, hay que recordar que en agosto de 2020, Marvel anunció una modificación en el nombre de la cinta ‘The Eternals’ que pasó de llamarse ‘Eternals’.

De acuerdo con varios experto en cine señalan la supresión del artículo “The” en el título fue algo extraño, simplemente confirmó que Ikaris y su equipo no serán únicamente un grupo de superhéroes, sino más bien una especie nueva dentro del Universo Cinematográfico de Marvel.

¿Cuánto tiempo deberías invertir al día para aprender un nuevo idioma? Nos reunimos con una de nuestras expertas en lingüística para descubrir por qué Babbel te ayuda a hablar un nuevo idioma con lecciones de 15 minutos.

El enfoque educativo de Babbel aconseja invertir 15 minutos al día para aprender un nuevo idioma, un tiempo sorprendentemente corto en comparación con el tiempo que se espera que los universitarios dediquen a estudiar otra lengua en su tiempo libre (alrededor de unos 90 minutos). Ahora bien, ¿cómo es que los compañeros de Babbel logran aprender nuevos idiomas a pesar de dedicar menos tiempo del que yo invertí aprendiendo a conjugar verbos en español en el instituto? Para averiguarlo, me senté a conversar con Karoline Schnur, lingüista de Babbel, quien me explicó por qué solo necesitas lecciones de 15 minutos al día para dominar un nuevo idioma.

El enfoque de Babbel
Karoline comenzó aclarando los principios básicos del enfoque de aprendizaje de Babbel: “Cuando un estudiante lee mucha información, es casi imposible que logre absorberla toda. Esto es lo que se conoce como sobrecarga de información o sobrecarga cognitiva”. Así, las informaciones menos relevantes son descartadas y, por lo tanto, nunca llegan a guardarse en nuestra memoria a largo plazo. Esta estrategia es ideal en nuestra vida cotidiana, pero no tanto para el aprendizaje de idiomas.

“Para almacenar algo en la memoria a largo plazo, debes hacer conexiones y repetirlo. La repetición es una parte fundamental del aprendizaje de un idioma nuevo”, continuó Karoline.

Afortunadamente, la aplicación de Babbel fue diseñada teniendo en cuenta las limitaciones de la memoria humana. Las lecciones de 15 minutos se corresponden con el principio de “fragmentación” en psicología: nuestros cerebros funcionan mejor cuando absorben alrededor de siete cosas nuevas a la vez. Para Babbel una buena manera de aprovechar el tiempo sería repetir 10 elementos durante unos 5 minutos, para luego hacer una nueva lección, que dura unos 15 minutos. ¡Y listo! Así de simple habrás completado los minutos de aprendizaje necesarios al día”.

Un enfoque científico que funciona
Habiendo comprendido algo de la ciencia detrás del enfoque de Babbel, era hora de ver cómo la aplicación refuerza este enfoque. Según Karoline, “El repaso ha sido incorporado en las lecciones por medio de diferentes ejercicios y contextos, para que el estudiante logre hacer estas conexiones”. Es posible que en los cursos para principiantes te encuentres con cierto vocabulario y que, posteriormente, lo tengas que repetir en diálogos más elaborados y no solo en los contextos obvios.

Debido a la gran importancia de repetir lo aprendido, la aplicación de Babbel tiene un sistema de repaso diseñado únicamente para repetir la información y afianzarla en tu memoria a largo plazo.

That is especially important now when neither of them is playing at 100 percent. If the Lakers want either of them to attack the basket effectively, they need to ensure that they have the space to do it. Their typical athleticism can't make up for clogged paints while they're recovering from injuries, and that is the key difference between last season's run and this one. 

But not everything that went right last time is going to work out this season. The Lakers themselves aren't healthy and cannot rely on their superstars to out-talent every team they play against. Their role players might not have the best shooting stretches of their careers. The Red Sea might not part for them as it did a year ago. If the Suns have anything to say about it, it won't. 

Phoenix won 51 games this season. They're a No. 2 seed, the highest the Lakers have played in the postseason during the James-Davis era, and Chris Paul isn't exactly known for letting opponents get away with suboptimal decision-making. The Lakers could afford to punt away opening games last season because their upside was so much higher than everybody else's that they could wrangle the series back in their direction afterward. 

They might not be able to do that this year. Beating a team like the Suns four times out of seven is hard enough. Now they have to do it four times out of six just to escape the first round, and they have to do it without James or Davis playing at their best. Their margin for error has disappeared. How can they beat the Suns if they're already beating themselves with these poor lineup decisions?

At a bare minimum, that's going to mean devoting more minutes to Marc Gasol and fewer to Montrezl Harrell. Frankly, the decision to play Harrell over Gasol in Game 1 was already a bit of a head-scratcher. The Lakers have outscored opponents by 28 points with Gasol on the floor since Drummond's debut, whereas they've lost Harrell's minutes by 88 points. The last time they saw Phoenix, Gasol was a plus-10 while Harrell was a minus-9. When Harrell and Drummond started struggling in the fourth quarter, Vogel reinserted Gasol to seal the victory. Ideally, Gasol should be starting, but just getting him into the game would go a long way towards properly spacing the offense. 

But there are other moves worth considering as well. Moving Schroder to the bench in favor of a guard that shoots more consistently, such as Alex Caruso or Wes Matthews, would help Drummond as well as the superstars score near the basket. Some backup center minutes for Markieff Morris could work as well. Those lineups held their own against the smaller Rockets last season, and Phoenix's bench is constructed similarly with Dario Saric as the primary backup center. The Suns aren't built to punish Morris' size, and while he is hardly an elite shooter, he's enough of a threat to warrant defensive attention.

Drummond, Schroder and Harrell are bigger names. They have clout in the locker room. They're also younger and impending free agents. None would be happy to sacrifice minutes, and Vogel is balancing a delicate political situation here. But politics can't get in the way of winning. Vogel benched a season-long starter in Javale McGee last season to put the Lakers in the best possible position. If he's going to get the Lakers back there this season, he's going to have to make even harder decisions. 

That's what it takes to win the championship in most seasons. Typical postseason opponents aren't as forgiving as the ones the Lakers beat last season. If Phoenix can punish the Lakers as easily as they did today, just imagine what Brooklyn could do to them in the Finals.

It took the Lakers two Game 1 losses to optimize last season. Hopefully, one will be enough to do the job this season. If it doesn't? The Lakers will have nobody to blame but themselves.

Of the many truisms about playoff basketball, my favorite is that it is more about weaknesses than strengths. While a team can get through the regular season by doing things that work against most opponents most of the time, in the playoffs all that matters is the opponent in front of you. You must not only try to exploit every advantage you might have, but be clear-eyed about your disadvantages so you can anticipate how the other side will try to exploit them.
