Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attacked for wasting opportunities gifted by the Queen

MEGHAN MARKLE and Prince Harry have been accused of wasting a wealth of opportunities to do charitable works in the Commonwealth on behalf of the Queen, by a royal expert.

Royal expert Hugo Vickers admitted to being terribly disappointed in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. While speaking on True Royalty with host Kate Thornton, he argued the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had many opportunities to do charitable works in the Royal Family. He insisted the Queen presented many opportunities for the pair to work with Commonwealth nations.

He concluded that the Sussexes felt that these opportunities were not enough for them.

He also argued that Prince Charles and Prince William were not trapped in the system of the monarchy, despite Prince Harry's claims.

Ms Thornton said: "We heard Prince Harry suggest that his brother and his father felt trapped.

"Does that ring true? Is that something that you have come across Hugo?"

Mr Vickers replied: "I don't think Prince Charles or Prince William are trapped at all, they are working the system.

"What I think is terribly disappointing is that Harry and Meghan couldn't have gone on working within the system.

"The Queen actually gave them the whole of the Commonwealth to deal with and they were both very interested."

Mr Vickers highlighted that he had previously praised the pair for their interest in working with the commonwealth.

He continued: "Prince Harry was extremely good and I had seen him out in places like Antigua and Barbados.

"He is very good at it and very constructive and Meghan also appeared to be as well.

"She had done a lot of charity work in those African countries and of course addressed the United Nations.

"When she first came on the scene I said she was the first royal bride to address the United Nations, that is quite something.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex gave a tell-all interview to Oprah about their time in the royal bubble, which aired in the USA on Sunday evening and the UK on Monday. The couple made a number of allegations toward the firm and larger institution that runs it, including accusing one unspecified member of racist comments, and that she was not helped when she desperately needed help for her mental health.

Meghan Markle dropped the biggest bombshell of the interview, reciting a conversation between an unspecified member of the Royal Family and Prince Harry about how dark then unborn Archie Windsor’s skin would be.

Her husband backed up the allegation, saying: "That conversation, I am never going to share.

“At the time it was awkward, I was a bit shocked."

Since then Oprah has confirmed that it was neither the Queen nor Prince Philip who made the comments.

The Royal Family responded in a statement earlier this week, which read: “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.

"The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning.

“While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”

While it is highly unlikely the Queen or her son will air their dirty laundry in public, their desired approaches apparently differed, according to one royal insider.

The royal source told US weekly: “Charles and the Queen had very different plans for how to respond.”

“Charles wanted to rebuke every claim made by Meghan and Harry and the Queen wanted to take a more modest approach.”

While visiting a COVID-19 vaccine site in London on Tuesday, Charles was asked about his thoughts on the interview, to which he gave a stunted response by chuckling.
