Redmi 9T: Xiaomi would unveil a new smartphone on January 8, 2021

Xiaomi is preparing to launch a Redmi 9T on the market. Oriented mid-range, the smartphone has a screen with a thin notch and stands out thanks to its imposing 6000 mAh battery. The official presentation would take place on January 8, 2021. 

According to the information collected by our colleagues from GSM Arena, Xiaomi will soon launch a new mid-range smartphone. It would be a version intended for the international Redmi 9 Power , unveiled on December 22 and already marketed in India.

Visually, the Redmi 9T does not revolutionize the genre. As shown in a video getting started (briefly appeared on YouTube before being deleted), the smartphone is covered with a screen topped with a thin notch in the shape of a drop of water. On the back side, Xiaomi relies on a rectangular photo block which houses three photo sensors arranged vertically and a fourth module on the side. The Redmi logo is visible on the lower part. It is identical to the Redmi 9 Power.

Same data sheet as the Redmi 9 Power?
We would find the same technical sheet as the Redmi 9T. The smartphone would therefore be built around a 6.53-inch FullHD + touchscreen LCD screen . It would be powered by a 6,000mAh battery and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC. Entry-level oriented, the chipset is equipped with a 4G Snapdragon x11 modem. On the other hand, it ignores 5G.

In the field of photography, Redmi would rely on a quadruple photo sensor consisting of a 48-megapixel main lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 2-megapixel depth module and a latest 2 megapixel macro lens. In the notch, Xiaomi would slide an 8-megapixel front sensor.

It is not the only smartphone in Xiaomi's boxes. According to rumors, the Chinese firm is also preparing the arrival of a Redmi Note 9T . This new member of the Note 9 range would be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 800U SoC supported by 4 GB of RAM. Again, Xiaomi should not be long in presenting the smartphone. The Navigo Pass arrives on iPhone in February 2021

The Navigo Pass finally lands on the iPhone. From February 2021, Apple-stamped smartphones will make it possible to buy a ticket or easily recharge the subscription for Parisian public transport. The Cupertino company has indeed agreed to open the NFC terminals. 

Since September 2018, Android smartphones with an Orange subscription can replace the metro ticket . Very quickly, metro tickets were opened to all Android smartphones equipped with NFC . Until now, however, iPhones have been deprived of this feature.

Apple has always been reluctant to open the NFC chip integrated into its iPhones. The Cupertino company very rarely grants access to NFC to third-party services. To use this technology, services must first obtain an NFC certificate from Apple. After months of negotiations, the Ile-de-France region would have finally managed to obtain this precious certificate from the Californian group.

The iPhone will soon replace the metro ticket in Paris, even if it is off!
According to information from our colleagues at Le Parisien, all iPhones will allow the purchase of a ticket, a subscription or even a Navigo Pass (weekly or monthly) from February 2021. The icing on the cake, users of the Ile-de-France region will also be able to buy use their iPhone to validate their ticket.

Ticket validation will also work if the iPhone is turned off due to a lack of battery . Since the iPhone XS, Apple has added a feature called “Express Cards with Power Reserve” . This option allows iPhones to use the NFC chip even when they are running out of juice. Apple has in fact provided an energy reserve to power the option. To activate it, just click on the side button accessible on the edge of the iPhone. A haptic vibration will confirm that the validation worked.

For now, note that no official information on the subject is yet available. Île-de-France Mobilités, the entity in charge of public transport in Paris, is expected to confirm the arrival of the Navigo Pass on iPhone in the coming weeks.
