#Top: Miss me yet? Trump teases 2024 run, attacks his enemies and repeats false election claims

Former President Trump took the opportunity to re-lead and explode his political rivals on both sides of the aisle in comments Sunday for the Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando.

“Hello, CPAC,” Trump said after taking the stage. "Am I still missing?"

Trump's first major speech since leaving office last month shattered the standard protocol for former presidents and provided insight into deep-seated Republican Party violations.

After being in the news and on social media continuously for four years, Trump has maintained - by his standards - a relatively low profile since leaving office. This was partly the result of decisions taken by major social media companies following the January 6 attack on the U.S. Chapter to displace Trump and many of his top allies for making claims. falsehoods about the loss of his election.

Stripped from his Twitter platform, Trump was primarily heard through emailed statements and a handful of interviews since leaving the White House.

Trump's CPAC speech was a return to the political arena, and he used it to continue to deal with false claims of electoral fraud. Prior to the remarks, there was even speculation that he could use the venue to announce plans to run for president again.

Trump denied some of those rumors on stage when he stated that he has no plan to "start a brand new party." While Trump urged some Republicans - particularly those who supported his impeachment for inciting violence at the Capitol - he said the formation of a third party "divides our votes."

“We have the Republican Party,” Trump said. "It will unite and be stronger than ever. I'm not starting a new party." 

Former presidents typically stay relatively away from the political struggle for an initial period after leaving office. Traditionally they also stop criticizing their successors outside of a campaign. Trump broke these two precedents with his CPAC speech, in which he criticized current president Joe Biden for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic and immigration.

“Joe Biden had the first disastrous month of any president in modern history,” Trump said.

Trump urged fellow Republicans to unite in opposition to Biden. He described the future of the GOP as rooted in defending America's economic interests and traditional values. Trump particularly urged against "cruelty of the left" and a "culture of toxic cancellation."

The former president has claimed - as he has several times before - that he has won the 2020 election, and has indicated that he is considering trying to win back his old job.

“I can even decide to win them for the third time,” Trump said of 

As Trump continued to criticize what he called a "corrupt" election process, some in the CPAC crowd shouted, "Win!" I won! "

"We did," Trump replied.

There is no basis for Trump’s demands. Officials from both sides certified the election results, and almost every legal challenge posed by the Trump team - including several that came before judges he appointed - failed. But Trump had harsh words for Republicans who refused to go along with his election demands. At one point he began naming Republican establishments that recognized Biden's victory or voted for his impeachment, calling them RINOs, or "Republicans in Name Only."
