Thomas Tuchel made an unusual substitution when he pulled out Callum Hudson-Odoi in the match against Southampton at St's Stadium. Mary's, Saturday (20/2).
Tuchel just entered Hudson-Odoi at the start of the second half. The Blues winger came on to replace striker Tammy Abraham, who couldn't do much up front.

Tuchel admitted that he pulled out Hudson-Odoi because the player was deemed unable to have a positive impact on team play.

"We included Callum Hudson-Odoi but I was not happy with his attitude, his energy. I pulled him out because we demanded 100 percent," Tuchel said as quoted by the Evening Standard.

"I feel he is not in the right condition to help us. It was a difficult decision but tomorrow it has been forgotten and he has the possibility to start against Atletico Madrid [in the Champions League]," he continued.

Hudson-Odoi himself is one of Tuchel's mainstay players since being appointed Chelsea coach. Hudson-Odoi often plays as a right winger in a 3-4-1-2 formation.
In this match, Chelsea fell behind Sothampton first because of a goal scored by Takumi Minamino. The hosts' goal was only rewarded in the second half thanks to Mason Mount's penalty at the start of the second half.

These results make Chelsea move up to fourth in the standings with 43 points. While Southampton are in 13th place with 30 points.
