What is KP Astrology?

Krishnamurti Paddhati Astrology or KP Astrology is a branch of astrology that is used to predict future events with high accuracy. This system is the brainchild of Shri K.S. Krishnamurti who was one of the most famous astrologers in India. K.S. Krishnamurti studied Vedic Astrology and Western Astrology before he developed the KP system. This system is very accurate and there are lesser chances of human errors. It is also easy to use.

KP Astrology is based on the study of Stellar Astrology. Here, stars are studied to make predictions. It is very simple and easy to apply and understand.

In KP Astrology, the houses are not equally divided into 12 divisions. They are also based on the cusps. Cusp is the point of connection between two houses.

Origin of KP Astrology

KP Astrology is a very simple technique to predict life events accurately. Earlier, an astrologer found it difficult to predict things with certainty. Shri Krishnamurti invented this technique to make the astrologer’s work simple. KP system is regarded as a modernized form of Vedic Astrology.

Description of Krishnamurti Paddhati Astrology

In KP Astrology, there are 12 zodiac signs called Rashis. Each sign corresponds to a planet. The entire sky is seen as a circle and the 12 planets are believed to revolve around this circle. As the 360 degrees of the circle is divided into 12 Rashis, each zodiac sign is 30 degrees. Each sign is again divided into 27 stars or Nakshatras which share that 30-degree angle of the planet equally. So, each star subtends 13 degrees 20 minutes of angle to the center of the circle.

The most important part in the KP system of astrology comprises sub-lords. Each star or Nakshatra is divided into 9 divisions, and each division has a lord which resides in that division. This lord is the sub-lord of that division. This concept is the main feature of KP astrology. Each planet has different properties. However, the stars or Nakshatras are seen as more powerful in KP astrology because they have stronger magnetic waves.

In this system, the basic idea of preparing the chart comes from the Bhava Chalit chart which is often used in Vedic astrology. Most of the rules for preparing the chart in KP astrology are the same as those in Vedic astrology. But the natural auspiciousness of different planets which is used in Vedic astrology is not relevant in KP astrology as it uses a growth factor and a descendant factor. These automatically accommodate both the auspiciousness and inauspiciousness of different planets.

Calculation techniques in KP Astrology

KP astrology is similar to Vedic Astrology and Western Astrology but some deviations are present. This system also comprises 12 Zodiac Signs. Each Zodiac sign is divided into 27 identical parts called Stars. Each star is again divided into 9 divisions, called Sub. They are the "Sub Lords" in KP Astrology system.

Principles of KP Astrology

Some principles should be followed in KP astrology. Some of these principles are:

Any planet residing in some house may interfere with the results of the houses before and next to it. But it may depend on the different degrees of different planets.

Many factors affect the significator of different houses. They include the house itself, owner of the given house, planets in the star of that house, and planets in the star of the owner of that house.

The sign lord gives results based on the house in which it is residing.

Some houses get activated due to some other houses during the Mahadasha period. These houses are called significator houses. Once a planet's Mahadasha begins, it will affect all the significant houses.

Predictions about an event can be made using the sub-lords of a certain house and according to the Kundali based on its significator houses.

The use of KP astrology has given many accurate predictions, and that is why it is accepted all over the world. You can learn KP Astrology online as many websites offer KP Astrology classes.
