Zack Snyder presents a clever scene in the movie Zombie Army of the Dead

The movie Army of The Dead has been eagerly awaited by many fans. Moreover, this film is the result of the successful director Zack Snyder with his zombie film, Dawn of the Dead, in 2004.

Launching the Rogerebert page, Monday (24/5), Chicago Film Critics Association writer and president Brian Tallerico revealed that the Army of The Dead promises what Snyder fans need. Initially the film opens with a clever scene, involving a military transport colliding with a newlywed couple celebrating their wedding while driving down a highway.
Then some of the soldiers who survived the accident turned into undead, aka zombies. A zombie outbreak then devastates the City of Las Vegas. The audience will be presented with a zombie scene that turns the casino floor into their playground.
Not only that, the audience will also be presented with excellent performances by the main players, namely Scott Ward (Dave Bautista), Maria Cruz (Ana de la Reguera), and Vanderohe (Omari Hardwick). Ward is a zombie-fighting soldier who chooses to sell burgers. Now he and the team must fight again with the zombies.

Despite its incredible length, Brian reveals Army of the Dead is a fairly sleek film that effectively blends the theft genre with the zombies. However, Brian regretted the lack of creativity in the story to be balanced with more interesting characters.

"For example, Ward is a father, a cook and a soldier, that's all people know about him. Bautista, a charismatic and belittled actor, struggles to make him feel three-dimensional, but he's better than De la Reguera or Hardwick, both of whom barely have any. character at all, "said Brian.
Not only that, he also assessed that Snyder seemed to be playing with political themes and topics without saying much about them.

# The fate of this character in the Army of the Dead film, is it still alive or dead?

The character Dieter, played by German actor Matthias Schweighöfer, is one of the entertaining figures in the film "Army of the Dead" by Zack Snyder which airs on Netflix.
He is the only one who does not have physical fighting skills in the team led by Scott Ward (Dave Bautista). For this reason, he often throws statements or questions that other team members find ridiculous, for example when asking how to kill zombies.

Even so, as an expert in unlocking the safe, his role was critical to the success of this mercenary team. Before continuing, it needs to be emphasized that the next discussion will contain spoilers or story leaks.

Near the end of the story, it is described that Dieter is already in control of Zeus, the king of Alpha, but he is still trying to lock Vanderohe (Omari Hardwick) in a vault so that his partner doesn't die at the hands of the king of Alpha.
There is no clarity in the next scene, whether Dieter is still alive or not. Because of this scene, the question arose if there was a chance that he would still be alive.

Zeus logically could have killed Dieter, but the film also clearly shows that Zeus can leave his prisoner alive. Based on the intelligence displayed by Zeus, it could be that Dieter was made a prisoner rather than as food.
In addition, Alpha circles don't always attack, unless they feel an immediate threat. They can also negotiate like Scott's team did when they just got to Las Vegas and give 'tribute' to zombie Alpha.

It should also be noted that Dieter is the main protagonist of the prequel which will be titled "Army of Thieves". So the sequel to "Army of the Dead" could have Dieter coming back, either as a human or as an Alpha Zombie.
In theory, in "Army of the Dead", Dieter or Zombie Dieter most likely survived the destruction of the city. Due to his very charismatic and lovable character, Snyder as the director will probably keep him alive for the next sequel.

Then, Dieter's personality as a human will make his potential to change as an Alpha Zombie even greater.

A clue to Dieter's fate can be found in the 91st minute character dialogue. He looked at Olympus's vault and made an ambiguous comment to Vanderohe. "If I can open it, it will be destruction or renewal ... death or rebirth."
This sentence is very important because it can be used to support the theory mentioned above. Since Dieter spoke these words directly to Vanderohe who had survived the explosion, it looks like those words will play a role in the sequel. It's even possible that Dieter and Vanderohe could lead a zombie revolution.
