A number of reporters and columnists these days are “going indie,” detaching from their previous employer and signing up with a site like Substack, Patreon or Medium to get paid for their writing by their readers. The motivations are usually blends of seeking freedom (to write at their own cadence and on whatever they want to cover) and the accelerating austerity at media companies from ad supported business models collapsing. Friends of mine like tech journalist Casey Newton have recently made this transition (he left Vox to launch Platformer) so I’ve gotten a bit of insider perspectives on the ambitions and economics of these launches.

I’m not against all Section 230 reform. As I suggested in 1., there is a good argument presented best by Danielle Citron that Section 230 immunity has been judicially interpreted so as to go too far. Some sites, for example, use their users as a shield for what they want to do — for example, a site that clearly and knowingly facilitate illegal weapon sales might operate under the fiction its users are the ones doing the trading and it has no responsibility for any violation of the law. Section 230 wasn’t meant to, and shouldn’t be a means to, in effect, use your users to create a means to avoid the law. Hence it seems logical to deny immunity to sites that “solicit or induce illegal behavior or unlawful content,” and to amend the law to do that.

There are many techniques we can follow to perform an efficient EDA, most of these techniques are graphical in nature. The reason behind that is, it’s better to spot patterns and anomalies in the data when it’s represented visually. The particular graphical techniques use in EDA tasks are really straight forward, for example:

Good cleaning datasets — or as I call them, very messy sets — are often found on websites that collect and aggregate datasets. These kinds of websites collect data from various sources without eating them out. Which makes them a great candidate for cleaning projects.

Third, Python is the best programming language to start your data science journey. Python is open-source, so that many people are developing it for many topics, from scientists to data analyst in a company. They build various Python libraries, such as Vaex, that can read 1 million rows and PyMC3 to explore N-dimensions parameters in the Bayesian inference paradigm.

The Trump / conservative campaign against Section 230 is actually a bit more complex, and at times unconstitutional, than I’ve described. Trump and his allies know that repealing Section 230 would be painful and expensive for the tech platforms. Hence, he has tried to use the threat of removing Section 230 as a pain point, a means of gaining leverage, in exchange for an informal promise not to downgrade, label or censor the misinformation published by him or his allies. In other words, he wants to punish the sites for their labeling and content moderation practices — and that retaliation is by itself, a violation of the First Amendment. So when you see Trump or other conservatives calling for a Section 230 repeal, sometimes it is just an effort to inflict pain to try and get the platforms to do what they want.

Then, will Python dead in 2021? According to Wikipedia, Python is first released in 1991 by Guido van Rossum. Now, Python is 29-year old. Klingenberg and his colleagues in 1995 found that the typical lifespan of a python in captivity ranges from 20 to 30 years. If Python is mimicking python, so Python will be dead in 2021. But, I believe that Python will not die in 2021 because the fact says that it is unstoppable. Maybe, in 2021, we will meet a new version of Python, Python4.

Whether that would be Constitutional is beyond the scope of this.

If we review the TIOBE index, I believe that Python will overcome the other languages. StackOverFlow reinforces it in 2019 that said, Python is on top 4 of the most popular programming, scripting, and markup language. It was magnificent progress for Python because, in 2017, Python overtook PHP and C# became a victim in 2018. Python is the fastest-growing programming language.
