Liverpool finally collapsed at Anfield!

Liverpool host Burnley at Anfield on Friday (22/1/2021) early morning hrs. They need a win to maintain competition at the top after their three rivals, Manchester United, Manchester City and Leicester City won.

The victory was also important to end their bad record after last Christmas holiday. There have been four league matches without beating his opponents, three draws and one draw.

While his opponent is Burnley who is stranded in the red zone, Liverpool seem to be able to end that. But, whose name is really bad, Liverpool are stuck again for 90 minutes.

Despite making 23 attempts, Liverpool were still unable to break through Nick Pope's net. The one in which they conceded Ashley Barnes' goal through the spot in the 82nd minute after Alisson Becker committed a foul.

Liverpool lost 0-1 and had to give up the tarnished record of 68 home matches in the Premier League without defeat. Throughout that period, Liverpool won 55 and drew 13.

The last time Liverpool lost in front of their own supporters was in April 2017 with a score of 1-2 against Crystal Palace, aka 3 years 273 days. This defeat was so stifling because Burnley had not actually won at Anfield since 1974.

As a result, Chelsea still holds the unbeaten record at home to the Premier League for 86 matches. Liverpool, who went through five games without a win and zero in their last four games, are in danger of losing the title.

Because, Liverpool in fourth position have only 34 points from 19 matches, a difference of six points from rivals Manchester United at the top of the standings. There is even Manchester City, which has 38 points in second place, but has only played 18 times.

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes disagrees with the sharp criticism that has surrounded Liverpool. He considered Liverpool not playing that bad.

Manchester United will host Liverpool at Old Trafford on Monday (25/12021) early morning WIB in the fifth round of the FA Cup . The two just met last week at Anfield in the Premier League, with the final result in a 0-0 draw.

Towards this match, the hosts were in the upper hand because they went better. MU has lost only once in the last 12 matches across competitions, winning eight of them.

The only defeat was swallowed up by Manchester City in the Premier League Cup. Meanwhile, Liverpool were on a halt.

In the same time frame, Liverpool only picked five wins, five draws and two defeats. Except for the four goals scored against Aston Villa in the fourth round of the FA Cup - Villa plays young players -, Liverpool have only scored one goal in five of the last six games.

As a result, now the sharp spotlight is on the Premier League champions. The trio of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah are considered to appear below standard. Bruno Fernandes has his views.

"I think each team has its moments. I don't feel Liverpool are playing badly. They just didn't win and this is the point, when the team doesn't win everyone talks about it," he was quoted as saying by Metro .

"When the players don't score, everyone talks about it. I feel that in me too, because I know the standards are high. Because I arrived and scored lots of goals and assists, and everyone wanted lots of goals and assists from me."

"It's the same, everyone expects goals from Salah, from Firmino and from Mane. They haven't scored in the last few games and the situation started like 'Oh, they're not good.'"

"They create chances, they can play the ball, but other teams are better and as I said before, they have more quality to show," added the Portuguese midfielder.
