In this sense, according to the technical document, Mexico City and the State of Mexico are the entities with the highest number of active cases, followed by Guanajuato, Querétaro, Nuevo León, Puebla, Jalisco, Tabasco, Morelos and San Luis Potosí; together they account for 78% of active cases in the country.

This is reflected in the colors of the epidemiological traffic light that will remain until this February 28, where Guerrero and Guanajuato are the only entities in red (maximum risk); Campeche, Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Durango, Tamaulipas and Tabasco in yellow (medium risk); and only Chiapas in green (low risk).

In orange (high risk): Mexico City, State of Mexico, Morelos, Tlaxcala, Puebla, Oaxaca, Querétaro, Hidalgo, Michoacán, Colima, Jalisco, Nayarit, Aguascalientes, San Luis Potosí, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Baja California Sur, Veracruz, Yucatán, Zacatecas and Quintana Roo. At the moment, no entity has changed its color.

Regarding people hospitalized because of the COVID-19 disease, Nucamendi Cervantes indicated that the occupation at the national level was 34%.

However, according to the Serious Acute Respiratory Infection Network (SARI) there are 21,127 general beds available and 10,321 (33%) occupied mainly in Mexico City with 60%; Puebla with 53%; and the State of Mexico with 53%; the rest of the states concentrate less than 50% of occupation.

Meanwhile, of the 11,129 beds with mechanical ventilators for the most critical COVID-19 patients, 4,106 (37%) are occupied in the country, mainly in Mexico City with 62%; the rest of the 31 states have less than 50% hospital occupancy.

Regarding deaths caused by complications of the disease, Mexico City, the State of Mexico, Jalisco, Guanajuato, Puebla, Nuevo León, Veracruz, Baja California, Sonora and Coahuila rank as the 10 entities that have registered the highest number of deaths and that together represent more than half (64.5%) of all those in the country.
