2 Budget Friendly Student Homes in Sydney

Sydney is known for its beaches and the fresh air they offer which allows you to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Some of the world’s most stunning beaches like Bondi and Manly are located in Sydney where you can spend time relaxing with friends. There are numerous other quieter beaches like Avalon and Cronulla if you don’t want to be a part of the crowd. The city is also famous for the green spaces it offers with the south of the city having some really beautiful parks. It is also home to some of the top universities in Australia which are also quite popular globally.

There are several student homes in the city where you can stay, some of which are mentioned below.

  1. Forest Lodge- Glebe

Situated above a local bar, this University of Sydney accommodation is a wonderful place to stay as a student in Sydney. The University of Sydney is just a 10-minutes’ walk away from the residence and the University of Technology Sydney takes only 15-minutes’ to reach on foot. The nearest bus stop is just a 2-minutes’ walk away from the nearest bus stop which will take you to the campus at just a moment’s notice.

Also, Glebe light rail station is just a 13-minutes’ walk away so travelling around will always be pocket-friendly and quick. During your free time, get on a bus and reach the Central Business District (CBD) in less than 20-minutes. All the rooms of this property are quite spacious and well-lit. You will find all the basic amenities to have a comfortable stay like a double bed and mattress for a good night’s sleep, storage spaces for all your belongings, and study spaces. The accommodation is self-catered so there is an on-site kitchen where you can prepare your meals and share them with other residents as well.

  1. 103A Parramatta Road

This student housing is set on Parramatta road on top of the Empire Hotel making it one of the most favoured choices for students. Students studying at the University of Sydney can just walk to the campus and make use of the various facilities it has to offer. With an excellent road and train network connecting students to the entire city, travelling in and around the city is quite easy. The nearest bus stop is just a stroll away whereas the closest train station, Stanmore, takes only 10-minutes to reach on foot. During the weekends, you can visit the Sydney Central Business District (CBD) by bus which will take less than 15-minutes to reach.

The rooms of the property offer well-structured rooms in the form of studios or ensuite apartments. Those who prefer living with friends can opt for an en-suite room which comes with a comfortable bed, study table and chair while the studios offer similar facilities but with a private kitchen which is shared in en-suite apartments. The property gives you ample opportunities to make new friends and make your time memorable. There is an on-site gym where you can work out to stay fit and healthy.

There is student accommodation near Australian National University as well which offer similar facilities and are present near the famous hang out spots. There are plenty of entertainment options like bars, cafes, restaurants, and clubs where you can eat, enjoy, and spend some quality time with friends.

Also, don’t forget to get good student travel insurance if you’re new to the city as in a new city with no friends and family it becomes quite difficult in case any unforeseen situation happens. There are several providers of travel insurance but I found University Living offering the best student travel insurance. It also offers student accommodations to students who are going overseas for higher studies.
